Zenscha

Background

Raised in isolation, Zenscha developed her skills through experimentation and raw intuition. With no formal mentor, she learned to combine alchemical theory with practical survival, using whatever was at hand—plants, animals, even the remains of Aberrations her party hunts. Her work often veers into the experimental, and while highly effective, it unnerves many. Having never truly fit in, Zenscha has spent most of her life traveling, seeking knowledge and occasionally crossing paths with those who might help her refine her craft. She views learning as a constant process, one that never ends.  

Skills and Expertise

Zenscha’s alchemy covers everything from poisons to healing salves, often drawing on rare or dangerous materials like Nightreaver venom or Bogshade spores. Her talent for sensing the subtleties of ingredients—whether by taste, smell, or instinct—sets her apart from other alchemists. She's also a skilled tracker, able to locate the rare herbs or creatures her work requires. Her solutions, though effective, are unconventional, and she has little concern for the boundaries between alchemy, cuisine, and medicine. For Zenscha, it’s all part of the same craft.  

Personality

Though kindhearted, Zenscha is difficult to read. Her social skills are limited, and her intense focus on her work often makes her seem distant or strange. She’s not cruel, but her curiosity can push her into ethically gray territory, especially when it comes to testing new concoctions. Her methods, while effective, can be seen as reckless or unnatural. Zenscha doesn’t fit well into society’s expectations, and her time on the road reflects her preference for freedom over conformity.

Zenscha is driven by a need to understand more—about alchemy, the world, and herself. She isn’t seeking fame or fortune, but rather knowledge and the chance to push her craft further. While she respects the idea of mentorship, she’s wary of anyone who might limit her creativity or demand she follow traditional methods. Zenscha is on her own path, unbound by rules, and willing to take risks in pursuit of the unknown.
