Skyseekers
In the wake of The Fracturing, the people of Altera were left with a world wholly alien to what they had known before. Undaunted by the dangers that now inhabited it, many brave souls sought to chart the new world they'd inherited, becoming the first generation of adventurers known today as the Skyseekers. Though the times may have changed, the spirit of discovery and adventure that binds the Skyseekers together remains as strong as ever.
Structure
The Skyseekers are a fairly decentralised organization, with each Guildmaster seeing to the affairs of their own branch. Below them, the captains of each ship associated with the guild branch are considered to be the highest authority, with the most successful often rising to become Guildmaster themselves.
Culture
Skyseekers are considered to be the most adventurous folk in all of Altera, always eager to explore new horizons and make new discoveries. The Skyseeker guilds are also well known for their comradery, and famously have an open door policy when it comes to recruiting new members, so long as they share in their desire to seek out new discoveries and possess the commit needed to pursue this path, no matter the perils they may face.
Public Agenda
The Skyseekers were formed for the purpose of exploring the far-off places of Altera, from the many islands floating between the continents, to the Broken Band, and even the Shattered Lands beyond.
Assets
Much of the wealth and resources of the Skyseekers comes from the patronage of various merchants, scholariums, and nobility who share their interest in exploring the uncharted regions of the world, and recovering whatever secrets may be hidden there. Fittingly, the Skyseekers also have access to numerous shipyards to house and maintain their fleet of ships.
Demography and Population
The Skyseeker guilds are populated by folk from nearly every walk of life, including soldiers, engineers, medics, scholars, and airship pilots. While most of their ranks are made up of ordinary folk, a few Rootwardens have been counted among their numbers.
Territories
Skyseeker guilds can be found all throughout the continent of Aelor, and a few guilds can even be found on the continent of Eulan, though they face stiff competition from the Kaedran Imperial Expedition Corps.
Technological Level
The Skyseekers possess the technology and know-how needed to build, operate, and maintain the airships that are the core of their operations.
Foreign Relations
The Skyseekers generally try to stay out of political matters, though they are on good terms with the nations they occupy. However, there is some friction between the Skeseeker guilds of Eulan and the Imperial Expeditionary Corps, with the former taking great issue with the more imperialistic goals of the latter.
Trade & Transport
The Skyseekers make heavy use of airships of nearly every make and size, using them for expeditions into uncharted lands and for transportation through rough conditions alike.
