The Sanguine Tome

The Sanguine Tome is one of twelve Amalorian tomes of black magic still remaining today. There are only 13 black magic tomes in existence (the twelve Amalorian tomes and the Abyssal Tome written by Oloroa). Of the 13, 11 remain in the Great Library of Vekirai, in the vaults of the Treasury Tower, guarded constantly.   The Sanguine Tome and Osteal Tome were stolen by the Sage Soriev Invezia on the 19th of Lizarat in 65BU. Soriev hid them under his robes as he left the city but was robbed on his way to Bairok, where he planned to use their power to overthrow the Council of Honour and take control of the city. The books were stolen by bandits and changed hands many times with sections being copied by various owners of the tomes.   The Sanguine Tome contains the secrets of a number of dark magic rituals which are powered by the spilling of blood in dedication to the fallen Amalorian god Acturvian.   It is written in the ancient Amalorian language.
