The Call from the Deep - 2. The Prophet
2. The Prophet
- Here me now, I who am called to the Father. I am the prophet of our Lord who is called Irhaz and from whom the chosen children were raised from the sea to rule the land.
- Once, blind I now see. I was guided by a whisper to the people who dwell atop the mountains who there have not forgot their true gods and who recall them each by name.
- Unto me did they impart the truth of our Father and lo I did pass many days amongst them before they did depart.
- I did descend to the East where unto me was guided one who walks through the realm of dreams.
- And by the generosity of our Father was I allowed to follow him who walks through the realm of dreams and to gaze upon that realm and see great visions.
- There I saw the vast expanse of chaos given form and I peered into the gaping maw of the endless, hungry void and heard furious wails from there.
- There saw I also a great citadel of gleaming marble, wracked by the passing of the ages, empty and silent, crystalline guardians watching its abandoned halls.
- There I saw a great thronging of spirits, the lost ancestors of the godless and the ones who came before.
- Beneath the orange sky and black sun was it clear unto me the secrets of the universe and the true god.
- And I saw great visions of the war in this realm and of our Father who defied destruction to cast the evil ones into the void and rend the world to his wish.
- I did then depart from the East and wander North upon the lands of the fur-clad lords.
- And I did hear their heathen ways and did espouse the words of the true god.
- And then I did go unto the West and defied the sages with the truth of my tale and then further West did I go.
- And then I went unto the land of Bairek and in the great city did I set to give form and permanence to my truth laid herein.
- And may this book be the guide for all who return to the arms of the true Father, he who did raise the chosen children from the sea to rule over the land.
