The Abominable Snowman
The Abominable Snowman
"The Abominable Snowman" is a song often sung during the Winter Solstice. While it is not considered a traditional Solstice carol, it has withstood the test of time for its silly and carefree nature. It tells the story of a beast of winter whose frozen heart thawed because of a Solstice miracle.
Lyrics
To the tune of "Frosty the Snowman"
The abominable snowman,
Was a fierce and mighty beast,
And with his wood knarled horns and his saber teeth,
He'd make you into a feast.
Down in the village,
All the creatures great and small
They shook and quaked when they heard his name
For they knew he was their fall!
But there must have been some magic
In the touch of one young sprite,
For when she faced the fearsome beast,
His heart turned black to white!
Now, when you see him,
His laughter fills the world.
Racing down the slopes so steep,
With every boy and girl!
