Harmony Sands Desert

The Harmony Sands Desert is a vast, barren, golden-sand desert. Its only source of moisture is from Harmony Lake and from the seas that surround its east and west ends.

All organisms in the Harmony Sands Desert are well adapted to extreme heat and aridity. Most do not grow to be over a foot long, with only a few notable exceptions.

The Harmony Sands Desert possesses a hot, arid climate at all times of the year. This gets better in the northern part of the desert around the winter months, but the aridity remains a constant.

The main flora of the desert are small flowering plants that live and die quickly after a rain and tiny, barrel-shaped cacti that are difficult to notice until you step on one. The fauna are mostly desert-dwelling animals like tarantulas, scorpions, snakes, mice, lizards, and desert foxes, though a few notable creatures, such as the desert cockatrice, live here.

As mentioned above, this desert was named after Professor James Harmony. His encounter with a desert cockatrice inspired many stories about the fantastical creature back on Earth.
