Champion of Altairus

After The War of the Wendigoes, the six brave heroes who banished The Heart of Darkness were dubbed the Champions of Altairus. Their images and deeds were venerated for many years to come.

The Original Six

When the War broke out, six young heroes, all from different walks of life, went on a quest to vanquish The Heart of Darkness and restore peace to Altairus. To do this, they forged the Fragments of Anima: Stormbringer, the Seastone, Terra, Yuuki, Lethal Joke, and Excalibur. These powerful weapons were forged with the powers of each of the elements. Using them, the young heroes defeated The Heart of Darkness, banishing it to The Flipside.

After the War, each was crowned a Champion of Altairus, and with it a guardian title exemplifying the virtue they best represented in the eyes of the public:

Each of these traits are considered cardinal virtues for the Children of Anima.

The Young Champions

Only a mere decade after The Heart of Darkness was banished, signs began to appear of its return. After a young storm gremlin named Jack Thunder found Stormbringer inside a cave on his native Tempest Island, he embarked on a quest to recover the six Fragments of Anima. Along the way, he met five new friends, who would become the new wielders: Buckthorn, Shadow-Paws, Snotter Snail, Kirami, and Saturn. Spoiler for Jack Thunder and the Fragments of Anima

They managed to do one better than the champions before them; namely, by reforming The Heart of Darkness and restoring it as the Heart of Altairus.

The six young champions have not received their guardian titles yet, nor are they exactly used to all the attention they're getting. But they needn't worry about that; their adventure is far from over...
