Blade Bee Badlands

Located south of the Harmony Sands Desert, the Blade Bee Badlands poses a very different climate than the desert directly north of it, though it is no less challenging.

Geography

The Blade Bee Badlands is a rocky plain dotted with large cacti and hardy wildflowers. The rocks are red from an abundance of iron in the soil.

Ecosystem Cycles

Because it is so far south, the Blade Bee Badlands do not experience the normal seasons that lands up north do. Instead, it experiences a rainy season and a dry season, with the latter dominating.

Localized Phenomena

Electrical storms are common during the summer months. The high concentration of iron in the soil increases the prevalence of lightning strikes, making it extremely dangerous to traverse the badlands when one is happening.

Fauna & Flora

In addition to large cacti and wildflowers, smaller animals such as mice and scorpions make up the badlands' fauna. This is also the home of the Blade Bees, sentient wasp-like faeries who possess steel blades on their forearms and stingers and whose culture is as sharp and hardy as the land itself.

Natural Resources

The Blade Bee Badlands is a prominent spot for iron mining due to the presence of iron ore in its hills. However, iron miners must be careful not to anger the native blade bees who live there, as they will attack without mercy if provoked.
