Upper Merchant Row

Demographics

Male merchants are the only permanent residents, a lucky few get to live in their shops while most have to trek back to Margem to their tiny shacks. Mostly wealthy women shop in this area, however, and police patrol the streets and borders to make sure not a lot of mingling happens. Almost all of the upper-class merchants are of Tantani descent or native Grenagem. Very few Roza males are able to enter due to lack of training and wealth.

Government

There is no tax on purchased items for women, but men have to pay 30% to the government. The merchants are also charged a hefty fee to have their shops there causing many shops to close after a few weeks of bad business.

Defences

Armed police guard the two borders and make sure members of the two classes don't cross into each other's districts.

Industry & Trade

The only thing that happens in this district is shopping, men sell to upper-class women and sometimes other men

Infrastructure

The row is built as two long streets with shops on either side. There is a large wall around the district that is scalable, but it is monitored during the day by the police force. The shops are usually built to fit around 20-25 people, with room to eat if the place serves food.

Assets

Around 300 shops that sell jewelry, shoes, clothes, upscale food, and trinkets.
