Academy of Administration

Purpose / Function

The Academy of Administration was established in the year 15 by the Ministry of Education in order to train and prepare upper class women for entry into the bureaucracy. After being raised in the upper class child zone, the young women selected to be bureaucrats spend their next stage of life within the walled compound of the Academy. There are nine distinct schools within the Academy, one for each of the Ministries: Aeronautics, Defense, Economics, Education, Ergonomics, Exploration, Image, Jurisprudence, and Records.

Alterations

When first established, the Academy was comprised of only one manor house. Over the 135 years of operation, it has grown into a large complex of academic buildings and dormitories. Each school has its own building where most of its respective classes are taught. In the year 109, the Academy of Administration acquired another block of the city to use in the housing and management of its students. This new block became dorms and a relatively green park, one of the more verdant sections of the city.

Architecture

Each of the school's buildings have a distinct architectural style. The School of Aeronautics Administration is designed with sweeping arches and large glass windows. The School of Defense Administration is squat and simple grey stone. The School of Economics Administration has a masoned look. The School of Education Administration is housed in the original manor, built in a traditional Granagan style. The School of Ergonomics Administration is built to look like a large sphere sunk into the ground. The School of Exploration Administration is designed to point in the cardinal directions like a compass. The School of Image Administration is a building with an entirely glass facade. The School of Jurisprudence Administration has worked metal sidings. The School of Records Administration is designed to look like a traditional Grenagan library.
