The Victa Clan

The most radical of the Red Nation cults is the Victa Clan. They were angry with the gods for cursing them into humans and vowed to get revenge. The Hylak city of Myrcoth was the hub of scientific discovery and advancement in the Red Nation. It also served as the homebase for the Victa Clan. They wanted to control the elements and become essentially gods bent on overthrowing the gods that had cursed them. The Red kings envied and feared the power of the Victa Clan, though they were too few in number to be any real threat. Many consider them sorcerers by their uncanny ability to manipulate fire and predict the future.   This cult of assassins and mercenaries made the majority of Creed’s following after the destruction of Myrcoth. They worshiped him as the embodiment of The Fallen One and the deity who would lead them to godhood. They continued their research into controlling the elements and overcoming death from Tamagrak, now with Creed’s divine insight, and made miraculous discoveries and advancements. The Red kings knew of the Victa Clan and their new god and tentatively offered their services in exchange for a share of the scientific knowledge the Victa had gained.   The Victa’s most important research lab was located in Rasal Gul, a rocky badlands between the Jo’gobbad Desert and the Ochiband. They had just made a major breakthrough in genetics and found a way to create a viable hybrid lifeform with any trait they desired. They called their project The Child. It was to their shock and dismay when the facility was raided by unidentified figures. The prototype had just been completed when the lab was infiltrated and the Child was stolen and most of their research destroyed. They found two bodies of the raiders and identified them as Hilians. Creed was infuriated by the loss because it was a major set back to his plans. These plans had not changed for nearly a millennium until Skahn gave him another vision (16 yrs before campaign). With another war on the rise, it was time to focus on a new group of people. As punishment for their failure, Creed ordered his most valuable followers to leave Tamagrak and rebuild the research facility at Rasal Gul or they would never see their families again. Creed returned one last time to Tamagrak and burned it down. He then killed a respected sage in the community, Ymir, and assumed his identity, kidnapped Ymir’s infant, Yanazuli, to take as his own, and fled the Ochiband with the survivors. They came across a group of Proxsolan soldiers and explained the catastrophe that occurred and how they needed refuge. The soldiers escorted them to the city of Proxsola and the Nine Star Council voted to provide them with residency and citizenship, with special thanks to Creed/Ymir’s silver tongue.   The Victa who were commanded to stay in Rasal Gul have diligently been replicating all their lost research. Victa hunters called Stalkers scour the cities looking for any sign of The Child and plotting raids to regain what they lost. The frequent terrorist attacks that plague the borders of Hilana can be traced back to the hands of these Victa officials, often on laboratories and tech warehouses as they attempt to rebuild their super weapon. Victa recruiters ghost the roads and alleys everywhere, watching for anyone whom they can snare into their cult. Many join the ranks of the Victa Clan seeking revenge on those who wronged them, still others swear loyalty to the darkness for the promise of great power. The Victa Clan operates as the hidden hand of The Fallen One, working in the shadows to tear down the regimes of the Five Realms and speed the resurrection of their lord.
