Karok

These small spirits are a manifestation of those who did not die honorably. They have no memory of who they were or what they did, only that they exist and can either help or annoy the people they meet. By helping people a karok uncovers more of their past self and what misdeed they did to be reincarnated as a spirit.   Some appear as winged fairies, others like small glowing animals. They are able to change their appearance but usually appear in their favorite form. Being essentially ghosts, Karoks are immortal and metaphysical. Karoks can interact with objects and just as easily float through them.   Karoks are known for being mischievious trouble makers. This is because once a Karok has discovered its purpose for being and resolved it, they transcend into a higher state of being and disappear from the earth. Those Karoks that stay behind are the ones that have not found their purpose or have chosen not to resolve it, instead choosing to remain in their in-between phase and cause trouble. Those people who say they heard a voice in their head telling them to do something are often speaking of a Karok.
