Ovest is attacked by Sahuagin   A Orduno Captain discovers the Darfellan   Druid's encounter an Earthmother Avatar

With the death of the Thothian dark lord, the many heroes and warriors of the Isle returned to their homes to heal wounds and hang their weapons. Most hoped for the last time. The darkness had been defeated with such cataclysmic results that surely the evil was destroyed. The Ornhini, Hadozee and Elwin of Trenaja began to retake their jungle home from the dangerous and malignant Skaven, a dark and often insidious war fought with natural and pestilent magics. The forests of Trenaja became dangerous and strange places to travel, a potential fortune in strange alchemical supplies if one could survive this place with even the plants attacking strangers.   Ovest found itself under siege from the seas. The Sahuagin around the island forced to the surface during the second dark war took the opportunity of the third war to strengthen their hold over these seas. Without the protection of Ovest heroes, the Sahuagin managed to lay siege to an entire city, slaughtering its occupants and destroying or burning the buildings. The island continued its squabbles and civil fights, allowing the Sahuagin to strike at one city or another without fearing the combined might of the island striking against their cities beneath the waves. Many Varisian and Shets'doma heroes had been lost in the third dark war and it seemed that Ovest might fall to this strife. Young nobles wanting to achieve reputation and renown began to strike out at Sahuagin raids, some engaging the aid of ships and their crew to take the fight to the seas. One such expedition found itself among the Quinque Digitos, a small range of barely habitable islands the Alphatian nation had ignored. This party, led by the ravishingly deadly Onetela Orduno, had hoped to find pirates or Sahuagin hiding amongst the islands, an easy victory and a sure means to raise their stature. Instead, the adventurers discovered a strange new race, humanoids mottled in black and white that could swim as well as the Alu'Tel'Quessir, yet were far larger and stronger. Communication was hesitant at first with these new humanoids. Were they another product of the mad Thothian Lord or travelers to the island?   While the Varisian and her crew observed the new people of Alphatia, the inhabitants of Giudarno were discovering the people of the Digitos by stranger means. The druids that inhabited Guidarno received strange visions from the Earthmother. Her avatar, the great whale, Kerridanna was swimming through the Alphatian seas in search of a new mate. The druids who sought this majestic creature were concerned that Sea Gypsy whalers would see this giant beast as the ultimate prize. As they traveled they heard the reports of the new species and a short investigation revealed them to be Kerridanna's lost children, the Darfellan. Kerridanna's children had fled from Shekolah's children, the Sahuagin, "the whale had been chased from the water by the shark". The druids of Giudarno made contact with the Darfellan establishing a long-lasting friendship with the druids offering protection and the Darfellan access to the waters of Alphatia and connection with the Earthmother's avatar.
