The Shimmering Deep
A deep valley of ocean that separates Mt Amaro, Dong and Guney. The edges of the Shimmering Deep are dotted with small islands and reefs before the water plunges into inky darkness that leads into the great southern ocean.
The islands and reefs are well populated by aquatic dwellers including a large town of Alu'Tel'Quessir off the coast of Guney. While these groups tend the shallower waters floral mixture of seaweed and coral bringing fish to the area providing food and supplies to the small island of Dong and the outer eastern population of Guney.
The underwater cliff face leading down into the dark depths is peppered with caves created from the volcanic creation of the islands that created the cliff. These caves are populated with larger more intelligent predators and aquatic races that like some privacy.
Rumours abound of what exists in the darkness at the depths of the deep including gigantic ancient predators and riches of treasures from sunken ships.
