Mirielle
Minor God
Moon: Golden
Domains: Humour and Dance
Symbol: Laughing Mask
Mortal History:
Mirielle was born into a family of honorable officers, the youngest of fourteen children. In the still‑harsh colonies, she knew a paradoxical childhood: protected by her elder siblings, yet often solitary. Very early, she discovered that her laughter and antics drew others to her. She became the “class clown,” seeking to lighten hearts through humor.
Destined for a military career, she entered one of the finest schools of the capital. But it was during a training mission that she revealed her true nature. Sent with a small troop to a northern outpost, she discovered that the garrison had been massacred by barbarians. Rather than flee, she chose to hold the position with her twelve companions, awaiting reinforcements.
The days that followed were marked by fear, rain, and the enemy’s drums. Yet Mirielle knew how to sustain the morale of her men: she joked, sometimes danced in the midst of the night watches, and transformed anguish into courage. When the barbarians attacked, her soldiers held firm, galvanized by her laughter and her confidence. They repelled forces three times their number, until reinforcements arrived.
Divine Ascension
Back in the capital, Mirielle became a popular figure: not only a promising officer, but also a heroine who had proven that humor and joy could be weapons as powerful as steel. Her stories spread, and wherever she went, crowds gathered to hear her, to laugh, and to dance.
At her death, her faithful were so numerous that their fervor raised her to the rank of a minor goddess. She chose to dwell upon the golden moon, but often descends to Almilir to inspire feasts, dances, and laughter. It is said that in military camps, when morale is at its lowest, a gentle breeze may bring an unexpected burst of laughter: it is Mirielle, reminding all that even in war, joy can save lives.
