Mortal Story
Saerir was born among the nomadic Satyrs, a people who wandered the wilds. From youth, she was captivated by the beauty of human cities—their art, their architecture, their fashions. Yet whenever she entered them, she was mocked and ridiculed for her appearance, deemed ugly by human standards.
Her fascination turned to obsession. She collected beauty concoctions, stories, and remedies, searching for a cure to her “ugliness.” When her husband refused to fund her endless purchases, she turned to alchemy. Through tireless experimentation, she created a pheromonal elixir that enthralled all who saw her.
Her tribe fell under her spell, and soon followers from across the continent flocked to her. They built her a mansion in a human city, where crowds gathered daily to marvel at her beauty. Each night, she labored over her potions, desperate to maintain the illusion.
But vanity is insatiable. Saerir demanded more adoration, more proof of her perfection. She commissioned an artist to paint her portrait, confident her beauty would be immortalized. Yet the truth was revealed: her potions only worked in her physical presence. The paintings showed her as she truly was—plain, even grotesque.
The portraits spread across the land, displayed in temples as symbols of vanity and debauchery. Yet paradoxically, her fame only grew. She became both the most beautiful and the most vain woman in memory, and her mastery of alchemy was undeniable.
Ascension
Saerir’s obsession consumed her, but it also immortalized her. Her name became synonymous with vanity itself, and her alchemical arts were feared and revered. When she died, her legend endured, and she ascended as the minor goddess of Vanity and Alchemy.
