God, minor : Gaia, Fauna and Flora
Gaia
Minor God
Moon: Green
Domains: Fauna and Flora
Symbol: Intertwined tree and mushroom
Mortal Story
They called her the Original Tree, though she was not the first—only the one who endured longest. In her youth, fire swept through the forest, consuming the tree people and their mushroom kin. The flames struck hardest at the youth nurseries, where the next generation was raised. Gaia survived only because her mushroom guardian gave his life, shielding her with his body.
She was the youngest of her kind to survive; all younger than her were lost. From that day, she carried the memory of fire’s devastation. While her people and the mushroom folk rebuilt together, Gaia worked tirelessly to ensure such a tragedy would never again destroy them.
She reorganized the youth nurseries into many smaller groups, scattered across the forest, so no single fire could wipe them all out. She encouraged the founding of colonies from south to north, spreading her people wide. She gave her life not to children of her own, but to the protection of all children—tree, mushroom, beast, and bird.
Normally, tree folk gave their lives in old age to nourish the spores of their mushroom partners. But Gaia never did. She was too consumed by her mission, and so she lived on, becoming the oldest bark in the world. Over centuries, she became a living guardian of the forest, guiding its growth, protecting its balance, and ensuring that flora and fauna thrived together.
Ascension
When Gaia finally fell silent, her people mourned not just a leader, but the very heart of their forest. The devotion of tree folk, mushroom kin, and countless creatures who had flourished under her care elevated her to godhood.
Now, Gaia is worshipped as the goddess of Fauna and Flora, the eternal matriarch who embodies the harmony of life. Her followers believe that when a forest regrows after fire, or when predator and prey find balance, it is Gaia’s hand guiding the renewal
