Mortal Story
High in the peaks where the birdmen made their homes lived Faerot, an aged eagle‑sage. Each day he wrote the chronicles of his people, striving to remain neutral and faithful to truth. Yet the life of the birdmen alone could not satisfy his hunger for knowledge.
He turned to divination, crafting spells to scry upon other races. At first, his visions were faint and fragmented. But with years of dedication, he refined his magic until he could not only see but also feel the lives of others—their joys, their sorrows, their struggles.
Soon, Faerot was recording the histories of many peoples, not just his own. He became known across cultures as the Silent Watcher, a figure who observed but never interfered. Some noticed his gaze, but since he did not act upon what he saw, most allowed him to continue.
In his later years, Faerot devised strange automatons of the dream world, constructs that could wander unseen and record what they perceived. These creations allowed him to continue his work even as his body aged.
Ascension
When Faerot died, his chronicles were already vast—histories of countless races, preserved with clarity and impartiality. His devotion to truth and perception inspired reverence across cultures. In time, the weight of this reverence elevated him to godhood.
Now, Faerot is worshipped as the god of History and Senses. He embodies the impartial eye, the recorder who ensures that nothing is forgotten. His followers believe that he sees through their eyes when they witness great events, and that he whispers to historians and scribes, guiding their pens toward truth.
