Mortal Story
Aber was born among the half‑giants of the cosmos, but his life was marked by misery and fear. He longed to see the world, yet lacked the courage to leave his homeland. That changed when he joined a desperate mission to rescue a child lost at sea.
The mission failed, and a storm wrecked their vessel. Cast into the freezing waters, Aber clung to a barrel for days, surviving only by casting the simple frost‑warding spells all half‑giants knew. At last, he was rescued by human fishermen, who nursed him back to health.
Living among them, Aber discovered something he had never known: the joy of simple lives well‑lived. Their laughter, their shared meals, their resilience in hardship—all of it awakened something in him. He worked alongside them, intending to return home, but soon realized he no longer wished to. His true home was the road, the sea, the endless horizon.
So he left, not in sorrow but in excitement. He wandered from village to village, continent to continent, learning the traditions of every people he met. He shared stories, laughter, and new ways of finding joy in life’s hardships. His presence inspired others to take journeys of their own, and soon tales of Aber spread far beyond the southern lands—even to the reptilian tribes of the north.
Ascension
Aber’s journey never ended. Some say he simply walked out of the world one day, vanishing into the horizon. Others claim he still wanders, appearing in taverns and camps to share a story before moving on.
What is certain is that his legend grew so vast that it transcended mortality. Aber became the god of Journey and Pleasure, a patron of wanderers, storytellers, and those who seek happiness not in wealth or conquest, but in the road itself.
