The Eternal Standoff

Of all of the great archmage to have lived in the capital city of the Aevran Kingdom, Elvuzax was the most feared among them. He began his public life as one of the royal mage and quickly became the head of the mage council. Known to slauther any competition, he soon was the only mage in the royal court. His tower was built in one of the most prised district in the town, but rumors about his strange experiments and the screams that could be heard at night, made even the most courageous residents leave this district. Even to this day, the district remains empty, with only his lonely tower standing in the middle. It is rumored that Elvuzax discovered the secret to eternal life. He disapeared somewhere around 500 years ago.   Akron the Red Death, was a ruthless mage-conqueror of the Eastern Kingdom. With his army of knights and undeads, he conquered most of what is known as the Eastern Kingdom and unified them under his iron fist. He reigned for more than a hundred years, before mysteriously disapearing around height hundred years ago.   By the greatest of hazard, Elvuzax and Akron were hunting for a fey artefact to corrupt it and use it's magic to grant them minor god hood, when they stumbled upon one another. Being of similar power, none could get the upper hand and they have been stuck in this magical standoff for more than four hundred years.
