Crawlwokens
The Crawlwokens are one of the four Sentient species of Allwanduir. They are close genetic relatives to Highdwellers.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Having not adopted a fully arboreal lifestyle, they have to rely on other means to defend themselves from predators: they have 10cm-long retractile claws and can add a dissuasive colored shimmer to their thin fur.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Omnivorous, with a preference for fruits and insects.

Puberty at 33 (18) for females and 35 (19) for males in average.

Social Structure
Live on the ground in villages of 160 individuals in average, but they are still highly dependent on trees for their vital needs.
They are very timid and fearful creatures, eager to run away from any danger. They were the last to join the global interspecies collaboration, causing the Common History era to start, in the 11th century. They are only beneficiaries of it to this day, with a few exceptions.
Facial characteristics
Like their cousins the Highdwellers, Crawlwokens may remind of sloths. Compared to Highdwellers, they look more emaciated, more fit to moving on the ground; they usually walk on all four, on their feet and fists. Their fur is of darker shades of brown (most individuals don't have a homogenous fur coloration), and slightly longer. The eyes are round and very dark. Both males and females have whiskers, scarcer and longer than those of Highdwellers.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
The Crawlwokens originally used only facial expressions to communicate. But following the Highdwellers' example, a sign language with a written equivalent is on the rise since the 38th century (4th century BC). It has roughly 600 words.

Lifespan
205 years (111 years). It is believed that their lifespan will increase to 230 years (125 years) when they achieve to get rid of their predators.
