The Law of Sacrifice
The Law of Sacrifice, as carved by Edgar, into the alter of their death states:
When a Sacrifice is given to achieve ones goals, or to prevent a tragic fate, what ever is given can not be regained or else the the goal or fate will happen as if the sacrifice had never been. This is why Edgar may never live again or all life will be erased, why Melorn's , broken wing can never be healed. While this law rarely applies to mortals, it tragically applies in the case of The Tales of High King Arguss, in the end Arguss heals away his sacrifice to gain the upper hand in defeating his arch-enemy, and so unmakes his entire kingdom, which was based on this sacrifice. To mortals the law only applies when it is knowing invoked.
Manifestation
When the law manifests, it appears as marks of chains on both the physical form and the soul of the being in question.
