Starlit Sea
Luminous pockets of Zyhril ore light up these great underground seas. On the southern shores villages and towns are built around docks to fish and farm the waters. The under water fish are plentiful, swimming in the large shallow sea. Kelp forests are farmed for their food and fibers. The water makes land farming possible turning the region into the largest food exporter in the Upper Umim. Salted fish, dried kelp and darkened grain travel by the cart load on the well made roads. The Starlit Sea is used to refer to the sea itself and the surrounding cavern.
While all settlements are part of the Underground League, The starlit sea is not controlled by any member nation of the the League. The sea and the lands in the greater cavern are the domain of the brass dragon Ulen-Zol-Ijor-Oas and her family. The agreement between Ulen-Zol-Ijor-Oas and The League allows the League to settle the land under her protection while Ulen's home will not be disturbed and a tribute of copper is offered yearly. The protection of a dragon is a great boon since most major threats of the underdark know better then to disturb a dragon. In the first settlement on the shores of the sea, a large stone statue commentates the treaty.
