City of Kryore

In the heat of the Plane of Elemental Fire, rises the city of Kryore. Build by unknown hands, ruled from the center spire, Kryore is a place of trade. Merchants from hell and heavens exchange wealth and goods of all sorts. Souls, spices, spools of thread change hands here in the under layers. The city is a set of large metal disks set atop alloy pillars with the spire in the center. The lowest disk houses the markets, warehouses, private bazaars, and trader's tents, protected from the heat by the upper layers. Above the portals, taverns and inns welcome inter-dimensional travelers, and guards keep the peace. Any traveler found disturbing the peace, is exiled, with rare exemptions. Above the layer of welcoming, is the houses, homes and small palaces of the residents. To travel between these layers the ramps and stairs that rap around the spire are the safest way, but ladders and ropes on the outer edge serve less public folk. In the spire are the barracks and homes of the current 'mayor' and their peacekeepers.
Currently Migirgen Doemust , rules the city after the decline and death of the former 'mayor' Myunis Doemust, his Uncle. The Doemust have held the City for centenary, and few can remember a time before this ruling house. The Doemust are Efreets or Ignvin in their tongue. However the family never has true control. Vying for the title, the power and the wealth are the Ignvin families of Mguus, Mivar, Ndies, and Eosal. The politics rarely threaten the flow of wealth, but when they do most reseneds recomened outsiders leave. For when the merchants do not hold coin, they hold weapons, which is a common saying, and sounds better in Igni. Igni is the local dialect of Primordial spoken in the streets. Ignvin Pictograms, and Igni Ky Sign are the written standard
The part of Kryore that captures the imaginations of mortals is the devils in the open doing business. Trading the wealth of the hells for the wealth of other planes, it is rare that souls are directly exchanged. Most of merchant devils serve under Wsidan, with colorful stalls filled with gems, metals, trinkets. Xeyant's merchants sell clothes of brightest hue and leathers of exotic beasts. Dark rumors speak that some of the hides are from failed devils. Foolish wizards are found when the devil trades of Zeytit arrive, as they sell rare copies of books, which will eventuality cost a soul. The infernal booksellers do not care who's soul it is. Even more rare then the booksellers are the food carts in backalleys severing odd cheese atop wafers smelling of wine. Eat one, and damnation is quickly found. The devils by law pay a flat tax, as no one has time to have the devils drag out court or weasel out of their civic duty. The reason why they are able to do trade at all is a backroom deals to kept the criminals in line.
While mortals hear most of the Infernal traders, it is the Ignvin which make up a major of the residents and traders. Masterful watered-steel weapons, elaborately decorated porcelain, prismatic glass, and bolts of gold lamé are sold in elite bazaars only accessible to the most wealthy and their representatives. Outside the walled bazaars, the spices of Ignvin cooks draw the hungry to their doors with spiced oil dumplings, smoked fish, seasoned lamb and greens skewers. In less exclusive stalls are metal tools, spices and plane glass work are hawked over. Between the cooks and merchants are the drink houses, serving the oil based drink of the Ignvin and more typical drinks for others.
In between all the trade of the city six temples and one plaza officality serve the peoples spirtical needs. The Grand Temple to Solur, the Lord of the Ignvin is the oldest and largest, with its eternal fire burning in its center. The next largest is the church to Tryan, around which gambling dens are a roar with noise. Inside the hollowed building merchants pray for success, and rented private rooms server for neutral negation ground. Far from Tryan's open temple is the gated halls of Saben. The gilded towers stand out from the dusty orange of surrounding buildings, a showy sign of the rich tithes the church receives. In the center of the markets of devils, the House of Arvis sits looming over the infernal traders. The plain walls of church to Oss'so blend into the surrounding courts, helping with the record and legal representatives. In the most southern part of Kryore, stands the chapel of Numorn, a local death god, cares for the deceased and their ashes.
