Dragons
Dragons. The best known dragons are huge, gold hoarding, dragons. But, most are not this. All dragons have hoards yes, but most don't hoard gold. Dragon blood is often seen in people like that Nobel woman you always see with plenty of jewels, or that librarian who goes nuts over books they haven't yet seen, or maybe your best friend who knows everything there is to know about horses and takes the best care of his horse.
Hoards are objects special to the dragon, but they aren't just special, the larger a hoard for a dragon gets, the bigger the dragon gets to protect its growing hoard. So, the largest dragons have the biggest hoards. In addition to this, the bigger a dragon gets, the stronger its magic gets. A dragon without a hoard is little more than a large gold coin in size, but a dragon can easily get to the size of a horse, or even a bear with a normal sized hoard.
Strong Dragons often start to take the form of humans and elves to enlarge their hoards, however even the strongest of dragons can only hold this shape changing spell for a week at most before going back into dragon form to regain its power.
Dragons also shed their skin as they grow, and dragon shed scales provide excellent armour for travellers, red dragon scales being fireproof, and white dragon scales being incredibly warm. Dragons that know this use it to their advantage to gain larger hordes, and then shed more skin, being a beneficial cycle.
Overall: Dragons are epic
