The Tenacious Duo of Legend

Both a book of historical record as well as a song and story told by bards all over the place.   In the Age of Mysterium, legend speaks of two bards (only known by their initials, JB and KG) who came from shoddy villages and found one another on a journey to become the greatest bards of all time. Along the way, they learned of a legendary instrument tool forged from a tooth of a Pit Fiend summoned by a dark wizard in the early years following the Verbannen Crisis (. A blacksmith, annoyed by the noise, threw a hammer and chipped the tooth of the pit fiend, causing it to be banished once more by the wizard, who turned the tooth into a pick.   This pick was used to create songs so powerful that all who heard songs by this item could not help but be under the charm of the player. The bards, fueled by a longing for adventure, and somewhat by a need to pay a debt to lovers, family, and the marketplace, set out to find this prized item.   From town to town and village to village, the bards did adventure long and tediously to find this devil's tooth pick. They became a nuisance to many, and a grievance to some. But eventually they found the pick they were looking for. Before they could play it, however, the pit fiend appeared. The Pit Fiend challenged the duo of bards to a contest of composition. If the duo won, the Pit Fiend would return to hell and also pay off all of the bard's debts. But if the fiend won, KG would be exiled to hell to be the devil's sex slave for all of eternity.   No record remains of the exact song that was played by the tenacious duo of JB and KG, but it is unanimously concluded that it was the best song in the world, heard by all in the world in the moment it was performed. Babies were conceived, illnesses were cured, wars were miraculously concluded in the moment the song was contrived and sung by the bards. The pit fiend was banished, his pick exiled to an unknown plane, and the legendary Bard's debts were paid off.   Bards to this day still sing of the best song of the world. It is a song of tribute to the Tenacious Duo of legendary bards of Mysterium.
