Session 25: The Cackled End

The party had a brutal battle with the Cackled End, who nearly ended the lives of the party members before being ended himself by Redbeer. His cracked helmet was taken by somebody. His maul Maulevolence was taken by Redbeer, and Vexx Shadowscales took the plate armor off of him. Keyleth found a pouch of glitter on the Cackled End, potentially linking him to the Glitter King.

After healing up for about a minute, the party exited the temple and found that several villagers had died, but the Entropic Societals began to retreat after hearing of their bosses' demise.

Realizing that commandeering one of those ships was their best bet off the island, Gimble wasted no time in putting his head in a cannon, leaning his legs down, and getting absolutely blasted into the waters below. He was immediately knocked unconscious in the water. And the party went to save him.

Doing so put them in range of an arcane gate spell by Wu Odd that sent them to the least occupied ship. Redbeer intimidated the crew into surrendering and working for them for the time being, and they now had a boat to return to the City of Thalmor. They named the ship the CackleDackle (Killer).

They gave the contents of that ship to the crew of the Tidal Knave in exchange for any debts owed to them for repairs.

Back on St. Leo, the party plus Laws Cordial were given freedom from their crimes. Mia, however, was still under judgement for her crimes and needed to be executed. Laws offered his life as a substitute, claiming that both his innocence + his support of the island gave him the right to give his life in her stead.

As a token of trust, Laws was permitted to roam freely about the world until the day he would return to have his execution carried out in Mia's place.

Thus, Laws traveled back with the party to the City of Thalmor to complete the quest to find the Sword of Order with Redbeer. When they returned to the city on the morning of the Summer Solstice, they discovered there was a massive smoke plume above the city, within the market area.
