Session 24: Defense of St. Leo

Party exited from the temple to find themselves at the conclusion of the trial of Gimble, Mia, Keyleth, and Laws Cordial. Apparently, they were tried for associating with the group that desecrated the temple and were found guilty, the punishment being death upon the next tenday.

However, before they could be detained once more, a Modron appeared, saying "Article 1-19, Section J, subsection 7P" and disappearing. Somehow, that meant that the party could therefore defend the island and not be executed, which sounded like a reasonable request.

From there, the party began working on the preparation of the island defense. Keyleth made Molotov cocktails, Gimble tried to train the troops (not very well), Vexx Shadowscales blew up a barrel trying to get it ready for archers, Wu Odd created a whole area of enriched plant life with Plant Growth, Root Treething chopped down trees to create a barrier to ships entering, and Redbeer dug deep holes with spikes underneath to have the invaders fall within. They also rented cannons from the Tidal Knave to use for the defense.

The defense went astonishingly well. Until the party was alerted to movement at the temple. Going within, they noticed that the Cackled End and a small crew of stealthy individuals had taken a different route up to get to the temple.

Battle ensued and the session ended as the Cackled End officially entered the fray of battle
