Glaive of Tryp
Among the oldest fighters' guilds in the entire world, the Glaive of Tryp hails its origin from the hero of legend, Tryp Breacharm. Legend goes that in a drunken stupor one day, the hero Tryp got in a tavern brawl with every single member of the tavern and won. The number of patrons varies by the tale, but the lowest number is around 15, and the highest number reports that the whole block was defeated by his prowess. In a stunning display of how weak the city was, Tryp founded a fighters' guild to teach the more worthy members how to fight well.
As the centuries have gone by, the Glaive has grown in popularity significantly. They were behind the construction of the Temple of Tulkas, and since that was established, their longevity was secured. The regular fights in the temple are one of the greatest highlights of the city, and any warrior who is worth their salt eagerly desires to be in the arena some day.
Admission into the guild requires a level of noteriety and fame, established within the Temple. A few exceptions have been made in the past for heroes of legendary status, but their recruits hail from the Temple winners who have made it big.
The most recent famous member of the guild was Xandar Naïlar, who still maintains his membership status, and continues to fight every now and then in the Temple.

No Halflings Allowed!
An odd trivia fact is that the guild does not accept ANY halfing barbarians. The only exception was the legendary hero Kodan, who earned the respect of his friend Tryp, but also maintained an unspoken rivalry between friends.
