Unlocked Human (un-lok-ed hyu-man)
Creations of a mad man turned into a desperate and misplaced race
“Unnatural creatures, mixed blood, half dead. I can only imagine their pain and the horrors they endured. The first ones anyway. Now they just survive, not live, just survive.” – Vorce to Mason about their Unlocked Human Smithy
History
The history of the Unlocked Human is violent, graphic and depressing. Read on with discretion. In the year 48 ATR, an Eron Daimon scientist called Dr Iloran Manmare and a team of twenty new graduates of the Gilden Veil travelled to the human world and forcefully captured fifty-five Humans and took them back to Alea for a series of horrific human trials. The aim of Dr Manmare was to create a superficial Half-human with the intentions of creating an army of powerful half-human creations. He had very little care for the lives of Humans and treated these subjects very poorly. They were restrained and kept in his lab in the north coast of Delroy until they were later freed by a patrol of Aborlaten knights. During the trials, Dr Iloran drained each human subject entirely of blood, essentially killing them, mixed their blood with that of several Rin Daimon that he had acquired through means of the black market. Once mixed, he thought the properties of the red and blue blood would combine to make the signature purple blood of the half human, but instead it went brown, the same colour as the unlocked human who were long descendants of Daimon. Instead of abandoning his experiment there, He pumped the blood cocktail back into the human subjects and reinforced its power with a surge of his own mana, killing himself in the process, completely drained of his magic source. These newly created creatures awakened after the doctor dropped to the ground, their entire bodies burning in pain from the inside out. Their entire being was not supposed to work, but because of Iloran’s magic, it did. Now these creatures were doomed to live a miserable and painful life in Alea, never to return home. Unlocked Human's are human's whose blood is mixed with natural magic Unlocked humans are the offspring of these test subjects. they have unlocked mana. They cannot be poisoned, and their blood is cold as ice.Appearance
The “Voids” look close to a Tolkien Elf, but more unusual. They have a completely white complexion, and white hair, like that of an albino but pure and sparkling white, even if the human they descended from was of the darkest complexion, their skin now glistens like snow. The only warm thing about them is their hazelnut-coloured eyes, the only remnant of their human nature. They are all incredibly thin and most often lanky as their bodies are not adapted to the Alean climate or food, therefore find it hard to get the nutrients they need, and often are greatly affected by the conditions they live in. Some get tattoos like Daimon, but their skin is so sensitive to pigmentation, that they only settle a very light grey.Life expectancy
The Unlocked human decedents have an unnaturally long lifespan, in fact, the first created Unlocked humans lived for 300 years before dying naturally, a few being taken earlier by weapons or accidents. The original creations children still roam Alea, as well as their great great grandchildren. They age very slowly, at a third of the speed of humans. A 150 year old Void could look like a fifty year old human, not reaching adulthood until 30 years old.Dwellings
They mostly live in Delroy, but some moved far away to the eastern coast of the Sylvian slums for the peace of mind that they are far from the laboratory that created them. There is also a large population in Aborlaten, taking trade-level jobs in the inner villages.Unlocked human names
