Torvin Ganvaar (Elder Brother, The Forge-Heart)

Torvin is the hammer and hearth of Ganvaar’s Armory. Broad-shouldered with a long ginger beard and thick arms marred by decades of work, he’s the brother you’ll most often find bent over the anvil, sparks flying as he shapes steel into fine plate, chain, or mail. Torvin is practical, reliable, and straight-spoken — a dwarf whose work speaks louder than his words. While he has little patience for bartering or haggling, he has an almost fatherly pride when adventurers leave his shop wearing gear he knows will see them through the worst of dungeons.   His motto: “Armor’s a second skin, lad. If it chafes, fails, or breaks — I’ve failed you.”   Personality: Gruff but kind, with a sharp laugh when he loosens up. Loves good ale and better stories. A perfectionist in craft, often reworking pieces long after they’re “done.”   Quirks: Hums old forge songs while working. Calls every new adventurer “kid,” regardless of age. Collects broken swords left behind as payment — hangs them on the shop wall as trophies.  

Darrik Ganvaar (Younger Brother, The Rune-Hand)

Darrik brings the spark of innovation to the family craft. Where Torvin shapes the steel, Darrik etches it with runes that harden plates, lighten chain, or even absorb magical blows. Slightly leaner than his brother, with a shorter, neater ginger beard and runes tattooed across his forearms, Darrik is the face of the shop when it comes to customer charm. He’s quick with a grin, loves talking up the finer points of rune-smithing, and isn’t above showing off his work with a flourish of glowing sigils. While Torvin ensures the armor will last a lifetime, Darrik ensures it will thrive in battle.   Personality: Witty, ambitious, and a bit more modern-minded than Torvin. Enjoys experimenting with new rune-patterns, sometimes to the frustration of his cautious brother.   Quirks: Has a habit of doodling rune sketches on scraps of parchment — or tavern tables. Wears enchanted bracers of his own design. Keeps a lucky copper coin etched with the first rune he ever carved.
