Ice Dragon

Sometimes called ice dragons, or northern dragons, it can be said that white dragons have been known about in Ethae since sailors began crossing the Piercing Ocean in ships. Sights of distant Dragon flying in the icy north of the sea were reported by the Old Capedo navy. However, the concept of a dragon with white scales was considered sailor's folk stories. These were tales of too much drinking, and other dragons reflecting the white of the ice in the shiny scales. It wasn't until Teikoku opened Na Boon to Ethae merchants and the first sighting of Hakuryu Armor, made of white dragon scale, that the Jenuwan Order began taking the idea of a new type of dragon seriously. The Order has been playing catchup on this dragon ever since, using Teikoku knowledge and adventurers to learn about the white dragons of the north.

White dragons have been in the historic record officially for centuries now, but the species has lived in the endless wastes of Aquilo since prehistory as far as any can tell. Boon warriors have been traveling to Aquilos for nearly a thousand years for their Kito Kari hunts. Though considered apocryphal, an added section of the 'Fire Story' in the Tales of Kigal and Enos suggest Kigal the Child of Irkalla became a white dragon or something similar. Though this other tales contradict tthis, and thus are considered untrue, it does suggest that the ancients of Aldern must have known of the white dragon's existence and tried to come up with an explanation to it. Obscure Isle of Iracro legends claim dragon worshipping sea people lived north of their island in the ancient past. They would still dragon eggs from Ethae to bring north to 'give birth' to their gods. These unknown people are called the Cult of White in modern references.

White dragons are feral creatures, more animal than dragon. Their scales are commonly white, but grey and even bluish hues have been seen. these creatures often use the terrain and their natural camouflaging to hunt. Some burrow down, or even lay in the terrain, letting the snow build up on them as they wait for prey. They are the apex predators of the polar cap, hunting anything that moves, even other white dragons. Only the opposite sex during mating is exempt from this primal hunting natural.

White dragons were originally created by taking true dragon eggs to the very top of Aldern, the northern pole, and preforming dark rituals believed similar to those that made the Red Dragon and Black Dragon. Unlike the other 'evolved' dragons the whites have been able to reproduce like the true dragons. It is unknown how this is possible.
