War Domain
the Rite of Melchama
The clerical orders of the War Domain have become some of the smallest divisions in the Church of the modern day. In the past, as the Church grew across the major continent of Ethae, the need was greater. They helped push against the Orc of Anbar and the pagan tribes of Southern Jerain. With the Trijan faith being nearly universally accepted across the continent there is no need for wars against enemies against the faith. Today clerics of the war domain often act as protectors of holy sites and pilgrimage routes.
There are doctrinal disputes in the Northern Trijan Church over joining the fighting in the Novyum Civil War. So far, the Church has not sanctioned any cleric or holy order to fight on one side or the other. They do, however, often unofficially look the other way when clerics choice to join their local wars. The choice of overlooking some clerics actions in the civil wars often falls into the politics of the region and their relations with the Church.
There has been a growing movement among the clerics of the war domain to return to the old ways and move west across the Cota Ocean intoDergonhad. Missionary work has been slow in converting the new land. The war clerics point out that Ethae was converted to the Trijan faith faster at the tip of a spear than through words in a sermon. The are however, as stated above, only a small number of these holy orders active in the modern day. They no longer have the large numbers of cleric of old to push into new lands. Nor do they have a united Novyum to create a vast army that will lead the charge.
