Tribe of Appellon

The tribe of Appellon was born of the ashes of the original inhabitants, the Apulu. Seeing divergent viewpoints develop as deeper understanfding of magic coincided, the Apulu desired to maintain a magical purity and alliance with the newly developing schools. This bid for control came too late, however, as the tribe of Rann split from the others and sought new lands. Seeing their new governance structure ending as quickly as it had begun, the Tribe of Appellon instituted the first council of mages, giving seats of power to the lead practitioners of each school. This held interest for the various new "schools" of magic for a time, but alliances formed and dissatisfaction widened as the schools could see the council for the sham that it was. It would not be long before the other tribes (Pharon and Varrick) would also leave.

The Tribe of Appellon, disgusted with the defection of the other families, sought to wrest control from the other tribes with little success. Finally, after over 50 years of sporadic conflict, the Tribe of Appellon consumed what was left of the Tribe of Rann, dispelled for good the Tribe of Varrick, and assumed new, subdued leadership for the Tribe of Pharon (true memebers of the Tribe had actually been lost hundreds of years ago). The process complete in 529, an emperor was seated for the first time. This emperor then established the council of mages as an advisory council. Appollonia was born.
