Trade Room Handbook
A Trade Room Handbook, is a handbook that University Trade Room uses to understand how it operates. Including with each other, in day to day, and outside of the University.
Purpose
The purpose of the Handbook is to allow the trade rooms to know if they are opperating correctly.
Document Structure
Clauses
The handbook is broken into sections:
Internally with other Trade Rooms
- How to operate
- How members are promoted to other Ranks
- Which Rank produces what.
- How a week is laid out
- What is expected of each member
- What the members can do during the day (going to the library, be in the marketplace, do work in the Trade Room
- How each rank works governmentally
- How and where each University Trade Room sends its waste
- Which Trade Rooms relay on each other
- How each Trade Room can commission items and services from each other,
- How and where a Trade Room's waste is sent and dealt with
- What to expect from other Trade Rooms when their memebers come in to sell their waste.
- How a trade room recieves its raw materials (if not between each other)
- How disputes are resolved
- How commissions work and are collected or delivered
- How the artistocracy can give them trade.
Caveats
As the document gets updated from issues arrising, the main issue is that the issue has to be raised to the Grand Artisan and then the problem resolved. For example not many Trade Rooms understood what was needed top be done with their waste so this became clearer in later editions and had its own board to help - the Board of Repurposing Waste. Which also became its own part of the Handbook too.
Publication Status
The handbook is accessable only to those who have University membership.
Legal status
it is valid while the University and the Trade Rooms exist.
