Career
Qualifications
Brownsmiths need to have affimity with mixing metals and working with them. As the metals they work with are cold working metals they will require annealing, This is heating the metal and letting it cool so that iti is soft enough to work. This is unlike a Blacksmilth, who will heat the metal and work it while it is still hot.
The Brownsmith also needs to know how to Braze metal, that is joining it together iby soldering. If one is going to do this on a metal that is going to be annealed then such joins would have to be very strong to prevent them from coming apart.
They would also need to learn the patterns of what they are making, in terms of the shapes of it the items, how much of what metal would be required and if any brazing would need to be done.
Career Progression
Carrer progression depends if the University has been established. If it hasn't then the progression relies solely on word of mouth. Once the University has been established then it is the University Marketplace that showcases the skills of brownsmith's beyond making tiger statues and statuettes. and pestle and mortars. Until the Brownsmith's get their mark, this may bring their work to the attention of the public. This may help them when they get their mark as this may bring more custom to their business.
