Garin Fortier is Lord of the land for western Sussex during most of my books, with the demesne estate at Arundel. (A little north of Arundel Castle - that stayed in the non-magical line of the family after the Pact.)
Garin and Isembard grew up partly at Arundel and partly at the Essex House, which came down from their mother's side of the family.
The Sisley family has held the land magic for northern East Sussex for many years. Most recently, this includes
Phineas Sisley (including during
Magician's Hoard),
Matthias Sisley, and as of 1938,
Orion Sisley.
The family estate is Fairlight, southwest of East Grinstead.
The southern portion of East Sussex is held by the Levett family.
