The Runestones

Attend thine ears, ye wanderers of Alana’s sphere,
Where Titans huge once toy’d with mortal fates for sport;
Their thunder-steps did shake both vale and battlement,
And none durst wag a tongue against their dread commands.
Yet see! From shadow’d crypt and emerald elder-grove
There crept the hidden Old Gods - wily, ancient, grim -
Who wrought no clash of spears, but subtle stratagem:
With rune-shorn keys they seal’d a spectral prison-gate,
And drave those haughty Titans to a realm unkenn’d.
So stands our fragile world unshackled - yet beware!
For should the scatter’d stones of warding rise again,
The seal shall crack, the Titans stride once more, and woe
Consume both crown and commoner alike. Mark well:
Freedom is but a sword’s breadth from despair.
Across the breadth of Alana lie the runestones - ancient remnants of the Titan Wars and the Old Gods’ victory over those towering tyrants. Each runestone is steeped in powerful magic, carved with sigils and wards that hold the Titans trapped in their distant realm. In the aftermath of the war, the Old Gods chose to scatter these stones across Alana. Legends speak of runestones hidden in secret catacombs, entombed in the roots of colossal trees, or resting at the bottom of treacherous seas. Over centuries, tales of their locations have become myths, locked in obscure tomes or passed through whispered campfire stories.   The six Rune Stones are tablets of purest Aeum with hundreds of runes engraved on all sides. Placing them into matching openings on the inside of a giant Aeum ring opens a gateway to a different realm.

Can you make a description of each titan? In the campaign I'm doing, someone so evil is trying to bring back the titans in return of power.

I think I never saw this comment. I finally, 5 years after, made an article about the titans: The Titans.

As I read the article about the titans first, I'm really sad they are trapped inside the stones. But the idea itself is really cool. Especially as it leaves plot hooks open like Tyler mentioned.

I think that everyone should just leave the rune stones where they are. :) Love the descriptions in your writing.

It's probably not on the players to collect those stones but on a BBEG (or are they actually evil?). But you never know. :)
