Pardu
The Fire Uncovered
Pardu was the husband of Biloren, one of the tragic heroes of Truex history. He was a Cleric of Matrine (yondalla) who met Biloren in her more uncontrolled youth. She was preparing to kill someone who had angered her, her rage out of control, and Pardu interceded using his ability to calm emotions to reduce her rage and allow her to recognize her actions. Biloren was immensly grateful for this. She had always been a slave to her emotions and for someone to even take a moment to notice her let alone help her was a very new sensation for her. Pardu attempted to leave Biloren once he recognized she had calmed and was no longer going to harm anyone but Biloren followed him back to the church of the Wandering Sentinel. She no longer wanted to be a tool others used to exploit her rage and violent tendencies. She knew that down that path lay imprisonment or death so she laid herself bare to him asking him to train her. At first her refused feeling his work with the church was his first priority but High Nurturer Moblin Poofs convinced Pardu to accept and work with the woman to control her baser instincts. At first they worked in short sessions discussing Biloren's past and seeking to find a cause for her pent up anger. As the sessions grew longer and more frequent they found many trauma's that led to her being the way she was. But they also found that her anger was a gift that if used peoprly could help Biloren become more than a simple street tough. So the two found activities to better use Biloren's rage. She fought in the arena's with Pardu as her manager and guardian so she would not kill a competitor. They recruited other skilled people to join them in going on dangerous missions to help people across the lands. This is how they progressed and attempted to build control for Biloren, but she still could not control herself once she released her rage without help. Pardu knew of no other way to give her control than to enact a bonding ritual between them. It was a very taxing ritual that would place a piece of his divine magic into Biloren permanently. By this time the pair were deeply in love and a more intimate bond such as this was actually seen as a further enhancment of that. But the bonding did seriously reduce Pardu's magical potential. He was happy to make the sacrifice however for his love. The simple Life
Once the ritual was complete the couple retired from adventuring and, now fully in control of her emotions, Biloren joined the Vigilant Guard while Pardu returned to the church. Few knew the pair shared a life, they were never properly wed and spent much of their time apart but their bond let them feel each other constantly. Biloren and he built a cottage in the woods outside the city away from the bustle and movement. This is where they started their family, they soon had a daughter, Deeann. As Biloren worked her way up the ranks in the Vigilant Guard Pardu stayed home to look after the child. Many happy years passed in this place for the family. Deeann grew and startred to blosom into a beautiful young woman, truely blessed by Matrine. Biloren had made her worth known in the guard and been elevated to palace duty. Her tasks included protecting the king on journeies. on one such journy he was attacked and only he and Biloren surrived by the strength of her axe.A kings Eye
As a reward the king was to name her as captain of his personal guard. The king went himself to her home to confer this honor. When he arrived he was shocked to find that she had a family and even more shocked to behold Deeann, who he thought to be the most desirable woman he'd ever laid his eyes on. The king made up his mind right then that he would have the girl in his bed. Pardu and Biloren were so pleased with the honor of the king's visit they did not recognize the danger that had arrived. The king felt no desire for his wife after seeing Deeann and thought of nothing but her after this point. He began to invite the family to the palace on regular occassions, all under the guise of rewarding his most trusted personal guard. Pardu began to suspect something was not right with the king's interest in Deeann, he did not say anything to Biloren since he was unsure but one day he suggested that it was unfit for the king and Deeann to be in the same room because should an assassin arrive Biloren would have to choose between the two. Seeing the truth of this Biloren immediatly cut the visit short and refused any further invitations. Still trying to hide his intentions the king tried to make Deeann part of the court or to have her educateed at the palace, but after realizing the danger it pose to both her beloved daughter and her beloved king Biloren would not allow it. Some time passed and Deeann began an innocent romance with a local farm boy. The kings spies reported this to the king and he was incensed, he saw his opportunity to defile the girl slipping away and he was intent on being the one to taste her before anyone else. The Betrayal of Royalty
The king arranged to have Biloren sent away on a mission that would take her from home. Deeann was excited becasue Biloren did not approve of her boyfirend and rarely let them see one another while Pardu as a Cleric of Matrine incuraged curiosity, so she arranged to have her friend visit while her mom was away. When someone arrived at the door to the cottage both Pardu and Deeann thought it was her boyfriend but it was the king and a number of men with him that they'd never seen. They forced their way in and beat Pardu severly leaving him concussed on the floor while the king stalked and had his way with the young girl. while in the process Deeann's suiter arrived and was quickly killed by the king in a jealouos rage. So maddened was the king that he took an even more violent tact with the girl beating her mercilessly as he laid his seed within her. When the king was through he left the two and the dead boy in the cottage and set it ablaze. With the will power only a parent with a child in danger can muster Pardu lurched his broken body forward to his daughter and tore all his power back from Biloren to save their daughter. He healed her and pushed her into the cellar to protect her from the fire, sadly he had already caught flame upon his clothes and was burning. He kissed Deeann's forehead as she screamed for him and shut the cellar door on her scrambing to escape. The door came down upon her head placeing her into a coma.
