Aasimar
Blessed inheritors of a divine boon.
"We are those that walk in the light. We are Her chosen, and our faith shall be rewarded when the Blessed Awakening comes."
- Preacher Ellery Stevens
Aasimar of Akronis
Vessels of a holy gift, Aasimar walk a fine line between the mortal world and the high heavens. They descend from those in their family who have been exceptionally blessed by the Holy Light, a semi-sentient force born from the God of the Sun herself. Aasimar recieve cryptic messages from the Holy Light through dreams and visions, messages that provide guidance and prophecy. They maintain their power through this link as well, on one main condition. As long as they believe that their acts are just, and that they have faith in themselves, then the Holy Light will flow through them. Most aasimar look like normal people, but with some defining angelic features, like ethereal beauty, halos, or feathers sprouting from their skin. However, each aasimar has an ability to call upon a power known as their "true form," bathing them in divine power and granting them additional benefits. True forms and the powers they grant vary from aasimar to aasimar, with two main categories being classified: Protector and Scourge. Protector aasimar can take flight with their angelic heritage, while Scourge aasimar can strike down their foes with greater intensity.Aasimar Features
