Governmental body of Torthuíl
The Withere, Zekka, and Torsin families have been in Torthuíl since nearly the beginning of recorded history there. They can directly trace their lineage back to when it was a small city in a larger human kingdom ruled by five families. The other two have died out and the current three have gone far down in power, but still hold much influence over the course of the city and its future through wealth, social influence, and their positions on the Council of 12. They are almost always embittered towards the Theorns for instituting the Governorship and removing them from absolute power, constantly jockeying for power. They tend to be too caught up with fighting each other to pose a serious threat though.
The current family heads of the three are
-Lord Adam Withere. Cold, calculating, holding himself to be in the highest station of the land due to his bloodline.*
-Lady Nimio Zekka. Lighthearted and seemingly airheaded, but with a sharp sense for politics.
-Lord Sven Torsin. Vocal, crotchety, ultimately harmless.
*After the events of The Drake Chronicles, Wither had been plotting to overthrow the Governor, spiriting away his son and turning popular opinion against them, and pinning all the blame on the Drakes as they were the Governor’s allies. However, he was found to have fled before anyone could apprehend him. He was convicted of treason and formally exiled, his estate going to his eldest child.
