Agasi Common Calendar

Currently 83 MX, 14th year of Marcipo, Calodomen day 22

The Agasi Common Calendar is used by the Agasi Kingdom and some neighboring peoples, although it is mostly a thing of convenience in those cases. It counts up from the Treaty of Prosperity while also counting from the beginning of the King’s reign. Thusly, you can refer to the current year as the 83 MX, 14th year of Marcipo, Calodomen day 22.   There are eight days to a week, five of which are workdays. Imvisdes is the start of the week and not considered a typical workday. Numitodes, Triplexades, and Pecardes are workdays. Quiesaldes and Reiltrades are days of rest, leading back into Virsagides and Hortgundes as two days of work again. In practice these distinctions mean little to the bulk of the population, as an agrarian life does not recognize a standard workweek. However the cities stick to it more or less, with the three days of rest being moreso days spent doing things other than conducting trading and administrative business.

Holidays and Events

Gala of Heroes (6th Pruinamen) An elaborate celebration in honor of the champions of the ages. Among the festivities are showy fights, jousting, archery contests, festivals, contests of crews - the greatest of these being the royal Gala of Heroes, held in the capital city. Occurs once every five years (the 6th is also the last day of Harvest before Chill).   Spring Equinox (3rd Frignomel)   Summer Solstice (17th Serelmen)   Fall Equinox (24th Calodomen)   Winter Solstice (35th Pruinamen)

Meta: A very rough approximation of what an Agasi planting calendar may look like. This doesn't take into account microclimates or special conditions from specific plants, magic spells, charms, varying methods, and other such things. This is NOT outlining what is actually available to the people of Agasi as far as which specific plant varieties are farmed, known, or used. This is purely a modern table pulled from the Old Farmers' Almanac used to illustrate the sorts of growing seasons they may have.

Meta:This calendar is a work in progress, but currently displays an accurate representation of the Agasi months, days, and the basic moon phases. Aketi has dual moons so their 'phases' are much more complicated; for simplicity, in this calendar 'phases' refers to the amount of light a single ordinary moon would reflect back at the sun like our moon on earth would.   The calendar is set to the current in-world year (83MX). Click on the month names to see that month displayed with its days and moon phases. Events (holidays, etc) will be added eventually!
