The Bronzecloak Concord
Purpose
The Bronzecloak Concord was an agreement which's intent was to pacify the traders of the Ath'Rivalin, in an attempt to inspire foriegn traders to come to the land. This agreement was signed by both the Houses of Ath'Rivalin and declared that as long as the agreement was renewed every decade, the merchants and traders of the town would serve the new Bronzecloak Alliance as well as the houses they are loyal to. This concord also introduced the title of Lord Mayor of Commerce, a title on the Council of Six, as well as the the leader of The Bronzecloak Alliance.
Document Structure
Publication Status
The Bronzecloak Accord is not availible to the public, it is instead kept in two different copies, one for each house. Since the concord is rewritten every decade, it means that during that time a few other figures bare witness to the document. And later on the Lord Mayor of Commerce is of course informed of the concord, so as to properly enforce and follow the rules.
Legal status
The Bronzecloak Concord is recognised and protected by The Council of Six, the leaders of Ath'Rivalin, and as such all subjects of the coucil are adherant to follow the rules of this concord. For this protection and recognition to continue, it is necessary that both houses of Ath'Rivalin decide to keep up the agreement. If one does not sign the updated agreement then the concord is broken, and The Bronzecloak Alliance dismantled.
Historical Details
History
Before The Bronzecloak Concord was introduced, the traders of Ath'Rivalin where a violent bunch. Suprisingly these traders were one of the groups that took the rivalry between houses the furthest. These traders fought over who the foriegn traders would do business with, and sometimes this fighting turnt deadly. This is where the name Bronzecloak comes from, as it was said during the time that all the traders carried bronze daggers and shortswords concealed under their cloaks. As more foriegn traders came for Ath'Rivalians goods, the violance escalated. And after a series of stabbings, resulting in the death of seven prominent traders, the Council of Six stepped in.
