People
Abyssans are raised on art and culture.
Identity is a tricky topic in the Guild of Abyssa. Due to their jet black bodies(hair, skin, eyes, teeth, etc..), its nearly imposible to make out their features. Abyssans craft their own personalised mask at a young age, and wear it at all times as a representation of their "true" selves.
This is freeing, but can also lead Abyssans to dysphoria when faced with their real body. Many Abyssans struggle to identify with their physical form, and instead lose themselves in eccentric and colourful outfits, sometimes changing their voice and speech patterns to match the persona they've created for themselves.
Gender is a muddy subject there; it's very common to not know the biological sex of an Abyssan until you've seen them nude, which itself can be a very difficult undertaking.
Fasion
Ostentatious outfits made to depict one's inner self. Typically not much skin left showing under the fancy fabrics. Always wearing a personalised mask.
