Necromantic Sealing

Necromantic sealing refers to types of rituals which are used in order to prevent any soul from re-entering or speaking through a corpse, without inhibiting other types of necromantic rituals, such as raising skeletons or zombies. The ritual involves precisely carving a series of sigils into the bones of a corpse, and so is rather simple, if not tedious, meaning it is a task often assigned to the newest apprentices in necromantic trade schools. The sigils are most commonly carved on the skull or long bones.

Social Impact

Necromantic sealing is most commonly used in the Kingdom of Hazar, where raising the dead for labor is a standard practice but trying to use those same bodies to communicate with the deceased is frowned upon. It is only rarely used by necromancers elsewhere.
