Asha Allanar
Spanning both sides of the Linnead River delta, Asha Allanar is one of the most recognizable settlements in Allathoné, with its iconic pink-marble skyline often used as a symbol for the region as a whole. The city serves primarily as a port-of-call for travelers bound further upriver toward the capital or making their way along the coast, leading to a greater quantity of visitors, either tourists or workers, than any of Allathoné's other large cities.
Despite its modest role as a waystation, Asha Allanar is widely known for its reputation as a city of risk, indulgence, and fleeting pleasures. Bars, gambling halls, and discreet establishments catering to every taste are commonplace, and its residents often take pride in the city’s notoriety as a place to indulge without consequence.
Districts
The Strand
Dominating the northern riverfront, the Strand is the heart of the city: a glittering corridor of marble-clad theaters, casinos, pleasure halls, and bars that rarely close their doors. Attractions range from the seediest of dive bars to members-only casinos with table minimums that would make a politician blanch. Maze-like alleyways and footpaths are shaded by dense foliage hanging between buildings, providing a carefully constructed feeling of privacy and intimacy.
Architecture
Much like the other Pearl Cities, Asha Allanar's buildings are built with marble cladding. The quarry they source their marble from is infused with feldspar, giving the marble a pink hue.
