The Tempest Vanguard is a guild of adventurers looking to take up jobs to slay monsters, collect taxes, and complete odd jobs for those willing to pay.
Like most guilds, the Tempest Vanguard charges a "Guild Fee" to join and then "Guild Dues" to maintain a membership to the guild. The "Guild Fee" varies between people and is highly dependent upon one's abilities, social class, and how well they perform on their introductory task. The "Guild Dues" are 20% of each completed task for a Green Cloak, 10% for a Red Cloak, and 5% for a Lieutenant. This structure for "Guild Dues" is generally more favorable to the masses, as some guilds charge a flat fee that can reach up to 100 gold per calendar year.

The Tempest Vanguard aims to help others achieve the jobs they cannot or will not do on their own for the right price.
Formation:
The Tempest Vanguard was formed in Illumination, 962. The Vanguard's initial purpose was to allow adventurers to earn coin from others without being taxed. Since the formation of the Tempest Vanguard adventurers have had a place to safely work as mercenaries.
Conflicts:
In 1203 the Tempest Vanguard was denounced as an official guild by Baron Roslin. The very same Baron Roslin was found dead of an arrow through his chest in 1219, a rumor spread that the arrow held a letter of denial from the Tempest Vanguard. During the 16 years that the Tempest Vanguard was not an official guild, many adventurers left the organization. When the organization was reinstituted as an official guild they had a record low number of members, due to this exodus. Because of this low population within the guild, the practice of taking a cut of the money earned per job became commonplace. To this day the Tempest Vanguard receives 20% of all coin earned by adventurers that have yet to reach the Red Cloak status.
