Fortis-gale
The south-westernmost city of Atera. This settlement benefits from the protection of the Moundrain River to the south and Gale's Breath Forest that provides cover from all angles.
Demographics
Fortis-gale has one of the least diverse populations in Atera. 10,000 members of the population are Elves, with the other 3,000 being distributed among Humans, Halflings, Gnomes, and the occasional Half-Elf.
Government
Fortis-gale elects a representative who stands before the King. This representative serves indefinitely or until the populace unanimously votes in favor of a new representative.
The King's law and taxation are in full effect in Fortis-gale.
Defences
Moundain River to the South and East.
Gale's Breath Forest in all directions.
Industry & Trade
Fortis-gale has a wealth of lumber, fish, and livestock.
For every tree that is cut down for supplies, two more are planted. Because of this, lumber is the most exported good from Fortis-gale.
History
When founded in Decay, 24, Fortis-gale was originally known as "Wind's Fortress". It became Fortis-gale after Elves arrived in the small town and began referring to it as Fortress Gale- as Gale is the elven word for wind. Over time this became confused for Fortis-gale by outsiders as the Elves who initially lived there had difficulties pronouncing Fortress.
