While lasting longer than some foes such as Romney he was eventually crushed in the polls when he was attacked by Nixon Reagan and Rockefeller as a false Republican citing his founding of the LUP, accepting a position by Kennedy, and criticizing him for the Republican loss to Kennedy. Smith again the man who would not give up Ran as a Third-party Against Nixon and looked to possibly costing him the race but in the end, Nixon won by a very small margin.

England is outraged after a police chief with ties to Unionist forces was assassinated by what people are saying was a vigilante known as the "Bowman", of course, many are wondering if this has ties to the many masked heroes operating mostly out of New York City known as the Bowman? The American group has a history of violence against police but seems to have dropped as of late. Is this group international? or is someone just using the name? or does the group have ties to the IRA?

Christmas eve party at the home of wealthy fashion mogul Marcus Marsai ended in tragedy. The party was attacked by the cult that kidnapped his daughter a year ago. Shocking reports say that his daughter may have been working with the cult as they butchered the partygoers.

1972 Eurovision, a celebration of European Music, was won by a Greek Singer, singing in French for Luxemburg. The controversy was a Member of the Greek Junta backing the Super Hero Team known as "Scions of Olympus" competed and came in 3rd. The singer a Meta going by Appollo stocked controversy both on if Meta's should be allowed and his strong support for the Greek Junta government.

In a startling turn, Michigan Senator Matthew Rislen won the Democratic nomination defeating Jimmy Carter by focusing on his ties to unions as well as business. He however Choose Carter as his Vice Presidential Candidate and was able to win a strong victory over the incumbent President.   Also at this time, we saw a return to power by the LUP becoming the Governor of the Deleware ending the 4 years without any state-wide office for the party.

LUP Member and son of party founder Steven Smith Jr. Is elected to US Senate as the Junior Senator from Delaware. On a campaign of expanded focus on the growth of government funding of Metahuman causes.

Bolstered by the ending of the Iran hostage crises by deployment of a meta-human team. President Rislen was able to crush his Republican opposition. This despite showing a Republican victory likely a year earlier.

In a closed Congressional hearing SHARD or Super-Villian to Hero Adjustment and Realignment Division is officially Authorized with Director Anderson being put in charge. some suspect this was the group that ended the Iran Hostage crisis before it really began.
