Italian Coast Crisis

Military: Skirmish

1971
29/11

The Italian Democratic Republic, also known as Sicily, shelled a coastal fortification of the Italian People's Republic, also known as North Italy, or Italy. The claim that the fortification had been stopping Sicilian merchant ships for inspections. This led to mobilization on both sides, nearly bringing about a 4th Italian war, but intervention by the Centurian and Sicilian counterparts led to a de-escalation. The direct involvement of Meta individuals, and in this case, extra-terrestrial ones, increased worry about Meta's global takeover.
